Tender Description
This tender invites bids for the construction of a parking shed integrated with solar panels at the State Bank of Pakistan's main building premises in Karachi, issued by the SBP Banking Services Corporation, Engineering Department. The procurement covers supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of high-efficiency solar PV modules, grid-tie inverters, mounting structures, DC and AC cabling, earthing systems, and associated civil works including dismantling, excavation, concrete works, and landscaping.
The project involves complex civil and electrical engineering tasks including fabrication of structural steel framing capable of withstanding high wind loads, installation of solar panels with advanced mono-crystalline technology, and integration with existing power distribution networks. The scope also includes installation of surge protection devices, lightning protection systems, and environmental monitoring equipment. The site is located in Karachi, requiring adherence to local standards and coordination with utility providers such as K-Electric.
Bidders must hold valid PEC registration in category C-4 or above with specialization EE-04, be on the Active Taxpayers List of FBR, and demonstrate experience in solar power system projects with a minimum value of Rs. 40 million. Compliance with FBR, PEC, and 2025-26 fiscal year requirements is mandatory. The bid security is Rs. 1,500,000 in the form of Payment Order, Bank Draft, or unconditional Bank Guarantee. The contract duration is 365 days with a Defects Notification Period of 365 days.
Submission deadline is on 02-Apr-2026 at 12:00 PM via the EPADS online portal, with technical bids opened at 12:30 PM the same day. The physical address for submission of original bid security is the Director Engineering, SBP Banking Services Corporation, 1st Floor Bolton Market Building, MA Jinnah Road, Karachi. Bidders should ensure all documentation, including shop drawings, test reports, and as-built drawings, are submitted timely.
Pro-Tip: Make sure to carefully review the detailed technical specifications and civil work requirements, especially the structural steel framing and earthing system details, as these are critical for compliance and performance. Also, verify the original bid security submission to avoid disqualification, and confirm all electrical components meet K-Electric and WAPDA standards to prevent delays during commissioning.
