This tender invites qualified contractors in Karachi for the Improvement and Rehabilitation of Traffic Corridors, specifically Pehalwan Goth Road from Habib University to Race Course Road Safoora (Package-04). The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation's Engineering Department requires comprehensive road works including dismantling existing asphalt and concrete, earth excavation, sub-base and base course preparation, asphalt concrete laying, and ancillary electrical and drainage works. The project involves complex civil engineering tasks such as laying HDPE pipelines, sewerage system installation, and electrical infrastructure including street lighting and traffic signage. The site demands careful management of materials like cement, steel, and bitumen, with strict adherence to quality and safety standards.
Contractors must be registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council in category C1 or above, possess valid tax registrations, and demonstrate financial capacity with an average annual turnover of at least PKR 2 billion. The project requires submission of detailed technical and financial bids through a single stage two-envelope procedure, with a bid validity of 90 days. The contract duration is six months with a daily penalty of PKR 3,000 for delays.
