Tender Description
This tender invites qualified contractors in Karachi for the Improvement and Rehabilitation of Traffic Corridors on Sir Shah Muhammad Suleman Road, Package-03, from Karsaz (Shahrah-e-Faisal) to Nazimabad (Habib Bank Chowrangi). The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation's Engineering Department requires comprehensive civil works including patch work, sewerage system upgrades, median and footpath construction, ancillary works, electrical installations, beautification and renovation of bridges and flyovers, urban flooding catchment and well works, and water leakages repair. The project involves dismantling existing road surfaces, laying asphalt concrete, constructing reinforced concrete structures, installing traffic signs and lighting, and upgrading sewerage pipelines with RCC manholes. The site is urban with complex traffic management and requires careful coordination to minimize disruption. The contractor must ensure quality materials, proper compaction, and adherence to engineering standards while managing site safety and environmental protection.
Contractors must be registered with PEC in category C2 or above with relevant disciplines, possess valid NTN and be on the Active Taxpayer List of FBR and Sindh Revenue Board, and have a minimum average annual turnover of PKR 191.626 million. The bid security is 5% of the estimated cost, and an Integrity Pact is mandatory. The contract duration is 6 months with a penalty of PKR 3000 per day for delays.
