Tender Description
This tender invites bids for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of internal roads connectivity of major roads in Karachi's Malir district under Package-16. The scope includes improvement and rehabilitation of Liaquat Road from Khokrapar No.05 to Khokrapar C-Area, Mehran Depo Road from Jinnah Avenue to Begum Khursheed Road, and Hashim Raza Road from Jinnah Avenue to KTC Tea Company. The project involves dismantling existing asphalt and concrete roads, earth excavation, sub-base preparation with graded gravel, aggregate base course laying, prime and tack coat application, and laying of asphalt concrete wearing course. Ancillary works include sewerage system repairs, manhole construction, median and footpath works, electrical installations including street lighting, and road safety features such as cat eyes and thermoplastic pavement markings. The works are to be executed in Karachi, Sindh, with an estimated cost of PKR 257 million and a completion period of six months.
The project demands careful site management, including excavation in soft rock, handling and disposal of dismantled materials, and installation of sewerage pipelines and manholes. The contractor must ensure quality control through proper compaction, use of approved materials, and adherence to engineering standards. Electrical works require installation of GI poles, LED street lights, and ABC cables with safety measures. The site conditions in Karachi require attention to traffic management, safety barriers, and environmental protection.
Bidders must be registered with Pakistan Engineering Council in relevant categories, possess valid tax registrations with FBR and Sindh Revenue Board, and demonstrate financial and technical capacity including equipment availability and experienced personnel. Compliance with PEC categories, active tax payer status, and submission of bid security and integrity pact are mandatory. The bid validity is 90 days, and bid security is 5% of the estimated cost.
Submission deadline is on the 4th of February 2026 at 11:00 AM, with bid opening at 11:30 AM on the same day at the Office of the Chairman Procurement Committee, Engineering Department, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Muslimabad, Karachi.
