Tender Description
This tender invites qualified contractors in Karachi to undertake the reconstruction and rehabilitation of internal roads connecting major roads in District Central. The scope includes improvement and rehabilitation of Block-D Main Road from Hyderi Bus Stop to Shipowner Roundabout, Block-J Main Road from Farooq-e-Azam Masjid to Qalandria Roundabout, and Sakhi Hasan Street including drainage system from Allah Razi Biryani to Haider Foods. The project involves dismantling existing asphalt and concrete roads, earth excavation, sub-base preparation with well-graded gravel, aggregate base course laying, prime and tack coat application, and asphalt concrete wearing course laying. Drainage works include excavation for pipelines, RCC pipe repairs, and manhole cover installation. Ancillary works cover median, footpath, islands, road studs, and thermoplastic pavement markings. Electrical works include installation of GI single arm poles, LED street lights, and ABC cables. The estimated cost is PKR 512.65 million with a completion period of 6 months.
The project requires contractors registered with PEC in relevant categories, active on FBR and SRB tax lists, and possessing valid electrical licenses. Contractors must submit a bid security of 5% of the estimated cost and comply with all SPPRA rules. The bid validity is 90 days, and bids must be submitted online via the SPPRA EPADS portal by 09-02-2026 at 11:00 AM. The bid opening will be conducted online on the same day.
PEC registration in relevant categories and disciplines is mandatory. Contractors should ensure compliance with FBR and SRB active taxpayer status for the fiscal year 2025-26. The bid security must be in the form of a pay order or bank guarantee from a scheduled bank. The contract includes a 365-day defects liability period and liquidated damages of Rs. 3000 per day for delays.
