Tender Description
This tender invites bids for the improvement and rehabilitation of main roads including patch work in District Central, Karachi, issued by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Engineering Department. The project involves comprehensive road repair works including dismantling existing road metaling, excavation, laying RCC pipes, refilling trenches, and construction of manholes. The scope also covers laying asphalt concrete base and binder courses, providing precast edge blocks, and other related civil works. The estimated cost is PKR 33,210,000 with a completion period of 12 months.
The works require skilled execution of earthworks, concrete works, and asphalt paving using approved materials and machinery. The site is located in Karachi, where climatic and urban conditions pose challenges such as traffic management and material transportation. Contractors must ensure proper compaction, quality control, and adherence to technical specifications including ASTM standards for pipes and AASHTO standards for asphalt works. The project demands coordination with local authorities and compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
Bidders must be registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) in the relevant category and possess valid NTN and SRB registration certificates. They should be on the active tax payer lists of FBR and SRB. The tender requires submission of a 5% bid security and an integrity pact on stamp paper. The contractor must demonstrate experience with similar government projects, provide a list of machinery, and qualified technical staff including engineers with PEC registration. Compliance with the 2025-26 fiscal year requirements and submission of audited financial statements from ICAP-registered firms is mandatory.
The submission deadline is on the 17th of February 2026 at 11:00 AM, with bid opening scheduled shortly after. Bids must be submitted electronically via the SPPRA e-Procurement system (EPADS).
