Tender Description
This tender invites qualified contractors in Karachi to undertake the improvement and rehabilitation of the retaining wall at Muraad Brohi Dam located on the link road Northern Bypass, including the laying of paver blocks on various internal streets in UC-09, Gadap Town, District Malir. The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation's Engineering Department requires experienced firms to execute this civil works project with a focus on structural integrity and urban infrastructure enhancement.
The scope includes dismantling and reconstruction of cement concrete retaining walls, reinforced cement concrete works, steel reinforcement fabrication, excavation, pipe laying, manhole construction, stone pitching, and paving with high-strength cement blocks. The site presents typical urban engineering challenges such as working within a busy town area, ensuring proper drainage, and maintaining safety standards during construction. The project demands adherence to technical specifications and quality standards to ensure durability and compliance with local regulations.
Bidders must hold a valid PEC registration in the relevant category and be active on the Federal Board of Revenue's Active Taxpayer List. Compliance with Sindh Revenue Board registration is also mandatory. The tender requires submission of a 5% bid security and an Integrity Pact on stamp paper worth Rs. 200. The contract duration is 90 days, and bidders should be prepared to provide performance security and adhere to all statutory obligations including stamp duty on the contract agreement. The project is funded by KMC's own resources.
The submission deadline is set for 18th March 2026 at 10:30 AM, with bid opening scheduled the same day at 11:00 AM via the SPPRA EPADS online portal. Bidders must submit their bids electronically through the official Sindh procurement system. Physical submissions or late bids will be rejected. The office for correspondence and bid opening is the Office of The Chairman Procurement Committee, Engineering Department, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Muslimabad, Karachi.
Pro-Tip: Ensure your bid documents include all required certifications, especially PEC registration and FBR/STR certificates, and double-check the bid security format and validity. Missing or incorrect bid security is a common cause for disqualification. Also, carefully review the newspaper advertisement for any corrigenda or amendments to submission deadlines or requirements.
