Tender Description
This tender invites qualified firms to undertake the solarization of remaining buildings at Karakoram International University (KIU) in Gilgit, focusing on the supply, installation, and commissioning of hybrid solar systems across multiple campus buildings. The project includes high-quality solar panels, inverters, lithium-ion batteries, automatic voltage stabilizers, ATS panels, and associated electrical and civil works. The scope covers turnkey services including site survey, equipment supply, installation, configuration, integration, testing, commissioning, and one-year warranty support.
The work involves deploying Tier-1 brand solar PV modules with 12 to 36 KW capacities per building, supported by robust mounting structures and electrical accessories. Civil works include RCC foundations and aluminum window and door installations as per British standards. The project demands adherence to technical specifications, ensuring all equipment is new, branded, and compliant with performance warranties. The site location in Gilgit presents logistical and environmental challenges requiring careful planning and execution.
Bidders must be registered with PEC for 2025-26 under Category C5 or above with relevant electrical codes (EE-02, EE-03, EE-04, EE-06, EE-11), active with FBR and SECP, and hold valid ATL status. Submission requires earnest money of PKR 1 million as Call Deposit Receipt (CDR) from a scheduled bank. The tender follows PPRA rules with a single stage, two envelope bidding process. Technical bids will be evaluated on experience, personnel, equipment, and financial soundness, with a minimum 70% overall score required.
The submission deadline is **2024-07-07 23:59:59**. Bids must be delivered in sealed envelopes to the office of the Director Works, Karakoram International University, University Road, Gilgit. Technical bids will be opened first, followed by financial bids of qualified firms. All bids must comply with the detailed terms and conditions outlined in the RFP.
Pro-Tip: Ensure your technical bid includes all required product brochures and manufacturer authorization certificates to avoid disqualification. Also, double-check the earnest money format and validity period to prevent rejection on technical grounds.
