Tender Description
The National Grid Company (NGC) of Pakistan (formerly NTDC) invites bids for the addition and augmentation works of 250MVA 220/132KV auto transformers at the 500KV Grid Station Guddu located in Kashmoor, Sindh. This tender covers comprehensive civil works including construction and modification of equipment foundations, as well as erection, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment at 220/132kV level. The scope includes transportation of equipment from various NTDC warehouses across Pakistan to the site, safe storage, and installation. The project requires compliance with environmental, social, health, and safety standards as specified in the contract documents. Bidders must be licensed by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) in the relevant category and registered on the Active Taxpayers List (ATL) of FBR and provincial revenue authorities. Experience requirements include completion of similar transformer bay projects within the last ten years, with qualified key personnel such as project managers and engineers. The contract duration is 180 days from the notice to commence or 30 days from the final approved shutdown by ISMO NPCC Islamabad, whichever is later. Bids must be submitted electronically via EPADS by 18-05-2026 at 11:00 AM PKT, with a bid security of PKR 3,000,000 in the form of CDR or bank guarantee valid for 28 days beyond bid validity. The technical bid will be opened on the same day at 11:30 AM. The tender documents are available on PPRA and NGC websites. A practical tip for bidders is to ensure thorough site inspection and understanding of local conditions including climatic and soil factors before bid submission, as no claims for compensation will be entertained later due to ignorance of site conditions. Also, bidders should carefully prepare their technical and financial bids in compliance with the detailed requirements and submit all required documents timely on EPADS to avoid disqualification. This project offers a significant opportunity for qualified contractors to contribute to strengthening Pakistan's national grid infrastructure with a contract managed by a reputable government entity.
