Tender Description
The Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University of Technology and Skill Development Khairpur Mirs is procuring advanced laser welding lab equipment specifically for its Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology located in Khairpur Mirs, Sindh. This procurement includes supply, installation, commissioning, and demonstration of high-end laser welding machines and related equipment to enhance the university's technical capabilities.
The technical scope covers a range of sophisticated machinery including a 1000W fiber laser welding machine, a 1500W CNC laser welding machine with cut weld and clean features, a 1500W handheld laser welding machine with water cooling, multifunctional welding desks with 3D tab and slot welding tables on wheels, and a Fanuc CK0640 CNC lathe for small parts processing. The equipment must be delivered, installed, and demonstrated at the university's laboratories.
Eligible bidders must have a minimum of five years experience in supplying similar goods, be registered with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for income and sales tax, and comply with Sindh Revenue Board registration if applicable. They must not be blacklisted by any government or public sector entity and should provide an affidavit to this effect. Financially, bidders should demonstrate an average annual turnover commensurate with the bid value and provide relevant bank statements and audited financial reports. Technical evaluation will consider experience, financial strength, and equipment demonstration.
The tender was published on 7th May 2026, with bids to be submitted electronically via EPADS by 27th May 2026 at 10:00 AM. The technical bids will be opened the same day at 11:30 AM at the Purchase and Procurement Office, BBS-UTECH, Khairpur. Earnest money of 5% of the bid price is required in the form of a Call Deposit Receipt or Pay Order. The contract completion period is three months from the date of award.
A practical tip for bidders is to ensure that all technical documentation, including manufacturer authorization letters, detailed specifications, and financial evidence, are complete and submitted as per the tender instructions. Any incomplete or conditional bids risk rejection. Also, bidders should prepare for a possible demonstration of the equipment to the technical committee as part of the evaluation process.
