Tender Description
The Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE), in collaboration with the Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives, invites research ideas under the Ninth Competitive Grants Programme (CGP 9.0) of the RASTA – PIDE & Planning Commission Competitive Research Grants Programme. This initiative is Pakistan's leading economics and public policy research funding platform, having supported over 159 grants worth PKR 447 million since its inception in October 2020.
Research ideas are sought aligned with the 11 National Economic Missions of the URAAN Pakistan vision. The themes include:
- Export Acceleration
- Resource Mobilisation & Tax Reform
- Produce in Pakistan
- Agriculture Value Chain
- Energy, Water & Environmental Resilience
- E-Pakistan & Artificial Intelligence
- Human Capital & Skills
- Housing, Construction & Real Estate Market
- Social Protection & Poverty Reduction
- Multimodal Connectivity & Logistics
- Investment Facilitation
Applicants must submit their proposals electronically via the RASTA Portal by the deadline of October 10, 2026 (Midnight PKT). Detailed information on themes, sub-themes, grant categories, and the review process is available at rasta.pide.org.pk.
Eligibility criteria include being part of universities, think tanks, government organizations, or research professionals with relevant experience. This is an excellent opportunity for researchers to contribute to national economic development through funded projects.
For successful submission, ensure your research idea aligns clearly with one or more of the specified themes. Prepare a concise and impactful proposal highlighting the potential policy impact. Early submission is advised to avoid last-minute technical issues on the portal.
