Tender Description
This tender invites qualified contractors in Karachi to provide specialized chime coating services for six storage tanks at the Pakistan State Oil (PSO) Keamari Terminal. The department requires expert application of Tank Base Seal System (TBSS) to protect and seal tank chime angles, ensuring durability and compliance with industry standards.
The scope includes surface preparation involving organic solvent cleaning, mechanical rust removal, and disposal of old coating materials. Contractors must apply UPS Primer and multi-layer UPS#778 breathable, UV-resistant coatings with reinforcement fleece to achieve a protective thickness of 1.5 to 2 mm. The tanks vary in diameter from 15.20 to 28.45 meters, located within the Keamari Terminal, Karachi. The work demands strict adherence to PSO's HSE standards and API 653 guidelines, including site barricading, safety signage, and use of certified PPE and scaffolding.
Bidders should ensure they have a PEC registered engineer on site throughout execution and comply with FBR/ATL requirements for the 2025-26 financial year. Earnest Money conditions apply, with release after six months of satisfactory job completion. Vendors must maintain housekeeping and secure all necessary permits from Karachi Port Trust without additional charges.
Submission deadline is **15 April 2026** by 23:59:59, with bids opened thereafter. Interested parties should deliver sealed quotations to PSO House, Khayaban-e-Iqbal, Clifton, Karachi. The work completion period is 30 working days post site handover, excluding non-working days as defined by PSO.
Pro-Tip: Make sure to assign qualified HSE supervisors and site engineers to avoid delays. Also, verify the specific requirements for Earnest Money and Call Deposit Receipt (CDR) as these are often overlooked in PSO tenders.
