Tender Description
The National Grid Company of Pakistan (NGC) invites bids for the construction of a residential colony along with allied civil works at the 220KV Grid Station in Jauharabad, Punjab. This project is being procured under the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) method and is managed by the Chief Engineer (MP&M) NGC, Lahore. The scope includes comprehensive civil works such as excavation, concrete works, brick masonry, plastering, finishing, plumbing, electrical installations, landscaping, and infrastructure development as detailed in the Bill of Quantities and contract documents.
The technical scope covers site preparation, earthworks, reinforced concrete structures, masonry, finishing works, plumbing and sanitary installations, electrical wiring and fittings, HVAC, and landscaping. The contractor is responsible for quality assurance, testing, and compliance with WAPDA/NGC standard specifications. The project duration is 750 days from the date of commencement.
Eligible bidders must be registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) in category C-2 or higher with relevant codes, be on the Active Taxpayers List of the Federal Board of Revenue and Provincial Revenue Authority, and not blacklisted by any government or public department. Experience requirements include successful completion of similar works totaling at least PKR 899 million in the last 10 years. Financial capability and key personnel qualifications are also mandatory.
Bidding documents can be obtained from the Chief Engineer (MP&M) NGC office in Lahore upon payment of a non-refundable fee of PKR 5,000. Bids must be submitted electronically via e-PADS by 30-06-2026 at 11:00 AM PST, with original bid security submitted physically before the deadline. Technical bids will be opened publicly on the same day at 11:30 AM PST at the NGC Lahore office.
A practical tip for bidders is to ensure thorough site inspection and understanding of local conditions before bidding, as no claims for compensation will be entertained based on site ignorance. Also, strict compliance with bid submission requirements, including timely submission of original bid security and complete documentation, is critical to avoid disqualification.
This tender offers a significant opportunity for qualified contractors to participate in a major infrastructure project under the auspices of NGC, with clear guidelines on eligibility, scope, and submission procedures.
