Tender Description
The National Grid Company of Pakistan Ltd (NGC) invites bids for detailed survey and sub-soil investigation of 500kV double circuit transmission lines associated with 500kV Nowshera Grid Station and Ghazi Barotha Hydropower Plant. The project covers approximately 252 km of transmission lines divided into three lots: Lot-I (52 km), Lot-II (approx. 100 km), and Lot-III (approx. 100 km). The scope includes route alignment, detailed survey using modern equipment such as RTK, DGPS, total stations, and digital theodolites, digitized contouring at hilly locations, preparation of survey reports, plan and profile drawings, tower spotting, sag and tension calculations, and sub-soil investigation including laboratory testing and foundation design. The work will be executed under the supervision of NGC's Chief Engineer (MP&M) in Lahore with coordination from various NGC offices. Eligible bidders must be licensed by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) in the relevant category, registered on the Active Taxpayer List (ATL) of the Federal Board of Revenue, and not blacklisted by any government or donor agency. Experience requirements include execution of route alignment and sub-soil investigation contracts for 220kV or higher voltage overhead transmission lines of at least 50 km within the last ten years. Bidders may quote for one or multiple lots but must demonstrate capability and independent teams for each. The bidding documents are available from the Chief Engineer (MP&M) NGC office in Lahore upon payment of Rs. 2,000. Bids must be submitted electronically via e-PADS by 11:00 AM on 4 June 2026, with original bid security submitted in hard copy before the deadline. Technical bids will be opened at 11:30 AM the same day. The contract requires a performance security of 10% of the contract price and completion within 150 days per lot. The tender emphasizes strict compliance with technical specifications, including detailed survey methodology, tower spotting, and soil investigation standards. Bidders are advised to carefully review all bidding documents and submit complete proposals. A practical tip for bidders is to ensure timely submission of original bid security in hard copy to avoid disqualification, as electronic submission alone is insufficient. The contact person for further information is the Chief Engineer (MP&M) NGC, reachable at 92-42-99202597 or cempm@ntdc.com.pk. This tender offers a significant opportunity for qualified firms specializing in transmission line survey and geotechnical investigation to participate in a major infrastructure project in Punjab province.
