Tender Description
The Federal Government Polyclinic Islamabad (FGPC-PGMI) is procuring advanced electro-medical equipment specifically for its Ophthalmology Department under the PSDP project for financial years 2025-26 and 2026-27. This procurement is based in Islamabad and aims to enhance ophthalmic diagnostic and surgical capabilities with state-of-the-art devices.
The technical scope includes a comprehensive range of ophthalmic equipment such as Posterior Vitrectomy Machines with Laser, OCT ANGIO with FFA tomography, Operating Surgical Microscopes with BIOM/RESIGHT accessories, Optical Biometers, Corneal Topography Machines, CXL Systems, Yag and Argon Lasers, Auto Ref Keratometers with Pachymeters, Ophthalmic Units, Visual Acuity Systems, Slit Lamps with Tonometers, various diagnostic lenses, Hand Held Applanation Tonometers, Bipolar Electric Cautery Units, Visual Field Analyzers, DCR, Glaucoma, Cataract and Squint instrument sets, and Phacoemulsification Units with accessories. All equipment must be from manufacturers based in USA, Europe, or Japan and comply with certifications such as FDA, CE, or MHLW.
Eligibility criteria require bidders to be registered with FBR and DRAP, possess valid authorization from manufacturers, demonstrate technical and engineering capacity including factory-trained engineers and workshop facilities, and have a minimum annual financial turnover of PKR 20 million. Bidders must also provide evidence of past performance with public sector hospitals, ensure availability of after-sales service, and submit a bid security as per the tender requirements.
Key dates include the bid submission deadline on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 11:00 AM via the EPADS v2.0 system, with bid opening at 11:30 AM the same day. Manual submissions are not accepted. The submission address for the original bid security is the Federal Government Polyclinic Islamabad office. Bidders are advised to register on EPADS v2.0 well in advance and ensure all technical brochures, authorizations, and compliance documents are complete and authentic.
A practical tip for bidders is to carefully review the detailed technical specifications and ensure all required certifications and after-sales commitments are clearly documented. Timely submission of the original bid security to the specified address is critical to avoid disqualification. Bidders should also prepare for onsite installation, demonstration, and training as part of the contract obligations. This tender offers a significant opportunity for qualified suppliers to contribute to the modernization of ophthalmic healthcare services in Islamabad with a contract value estimated at around **PKR 13 million**.
