Tender Description
Port Qasim Electric Power Company (Private) Limited (PQEPC) invites sealed applications for prequalification of suppliers for the Long Term Coal Procurement for PQEPC 2x660MW Coal-Fired Power Plant located at EIZ/LL/SP-14, opposite Engro Polymer, Port Qasim, Karachi, Pakistan. The prequalification process is the first step in selecting coal suppliers through open bidding.
Items being procured:
- South African Coal (API 4) with maximum quantity 1,500,000 MT
- Indonesian Coal (ICI 3) with maximum quantity 1,500,000 MT
The coal quality required is ICI-3 and API-4 as per technical specifications. Suppliers must have experience supplying over 2 million tons of coal via sea imports in the past three years, preferably with direct supply experience to Pakistan or power plants in Pakistan. Applicants must provide contracts, bills of lading, or invoices as evidence. Additionally, bidders should have at least three years of coal trading experience and demonstrate a sustainable international coal trading network with proven marine logistics capability.
Prequalification documents can be obtained free of charge by submitting supporting evidence to PQEPC before 17:00 hours on 24th August 2026 (Pakistan Time). Applications, including all supporting documents, must be submitted electronically via email and in two hard copies (one original and one duplicate) by 17:00 hours on 1st September 2026 (Pakistan Standard Time).
