Tender Description
Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works Limited (KS&EW) invites experienced sub-contractors for the manufacturing and installation of rubber pads specifically designed for docking operations at their Ship Repair Division in Karachi. This procurement is critical for maintaining the operational efficiency and safety of docking procedures at one of Pakistan's premier shipbuilding and repair yards.
The technical scope includes the fabrication of high-quality rubber pads meeting KS&EW's detailed specifications, followed by their professional installation at the designated docking sites. Bidders must demonstrate relevant experience in similar shipyard or heavy industrial works, ensuring compliance with all technical and safety standards. Registration with Income Tax and Sales Tax departments is mandatory, and bidders should be prepared to submit Earnest Money in the form of a CDR as per the bidding documents.
The bidding documents, priced at Rs. 3,000 (non-refundable), contain comprehensive details on submission procedures, bid security, evaluation criteria, and performance guarantees. Interested parties should obtain these documents from the Ship Repair Division at KS&EW promptly to prepare their Technical and Commercial bids.
The deadline for bid submission is **13 May 2026 at 1100 hrs**, with technical bids opening at 1130 hrs the same day. Commercial bids will be opened later, with dates to be communicated. Bidders are advised to carefully follow the instructions in the bidding documents and ensure timely delivery to avoid disqualification.
A practical tip for bidders is to thoroughly review the technical specifications and ensure all required certifications and registrations are current and clearly documented in the Technical Bid. This will facilitate smoother evaluation and increase the chances of success in this competitive tender process.
