Tender Description
Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Limited invites proposals and sealed quotations from well reputed Sub-Contractors and Firms experienced in Marine Insulation and Cladding Work onboard ships. The procurement is specifically for repairs and replacement of damaged or defective areas of sub-cladding work on exhaust pipes of main engines, diesel generators, and gas turbines, as well as installation of decorative lining and perforated sheets on bulkheads of Zone 052 AFT, repair party station, and sickbay corridor on ship SB MBU-1.
Items being procured:
- Repairs / Replacement of Damaged / Defective area of Sub-Cladding work on Exhaust Pipes of ME(s), DG(s) & Gas Turbines
- Installation of Decorative Lining / Perforated Sheets on Bulkheads of Zone 052 AFT
- Repair Party Station
- Repair Sickbay Corridor
The tender documents are available at the office of Development & Sub-Contract, Works Office Building, Ship Planning Hall (SB Division), Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Limited. Interested bidders can obtain the documents on payment of a non-refundable fee of Rs.3000 from 21-09-2026 during working hours (0900 to 1600).
Bidders must submit their offers before 1100 hours on 09-10-2026 in a single package envelope containing two separate sealed envelopes: one for the Technical Proposal including the Pre-Qualification form with signature and office stamp, and the other for the Commercial / Financial Proposal. Technical proposals will be opened on the same day at 1130 hours in the presence of bidders. Financial proposals will be opened later only for technically qualified bidders.
Eligibility requires relevant experience in marine insulation and cladding works. Bid validity is 60 days. Earnest Money and other bid security details are expected as per tender documents.
A practical tip for bidders: Ensure your technical proposal is complete with all required pre-qualification documents and properly signed to avoid disqualification at the technical evaluation stage. Timely submission is critical as late bids will not be accepted.
