Tender Description
This tender invites bids for the supply and installation of Mobile Workshops with FRP Canopies on Toyota Hilux 4x2 Single Cabin Pickups for the Police Department, Government of Sindh, Karachi. The procurement falls under the Vehicles & Auto Parts category and aims to equip the police force with specialized mobile workshops featuring robust steel structures, marine ply flooring, and FRP canopies with precise dimensions and thickness. The canopies include safety features such as front and rear safeguards, thermocol insulation, sliding tempered glass windows, LED lighting, fans, and imported bar lights with PA systems and sirens. The workshops are also equipped with essential tools and accessories including hydraulic jacks, air compressors, toolboxes, and traffic cones.
The scope of work requires bidders to have a proven track record of 15 to 20 years in fiber and metal body fabrication, with mandatory registration and licenses including a valid Body Building License from the Provincial Transport Authority Sindh. The technical specifications demand high-quality materials and workmanship, with strict compliance to the detailed technical compliance questionnaire. The workshops will be installed on Toyota pickups provided by the department at the supplier's facility in Karachi.
Bidders must be registered with FBR and GST, maintain an active tax status, and submit a bid security of PKR 150,000. The tender follows a Single Stage – Two Envelopes procedure as per SPP Rules 2010. The contract requires a performance security of 10% of the contract value and adherence to delivery timelines with liquidated damages applicable for delays. The financial year 2025-26 payments will be made in Pakistani Rupees, inclusive of all taxes.
Submission deadline is set for 2nd June 2026 at 14:30 hours, with bid opening at 15:00 hours on the same day at the Office of Deputy Inspector General of Police Technical & Transport, Sindh, Karachi. Bidders must submit two copies of their bids, clearly marked as original and copy, with technical and financial proposals sealed separately. The department advises bidders to ensure all mandatory documents and technical compliance forms are duly completed to avoid disqualification.
Pro-Tip: Make sure to carefully check the bid security submission requirements and ensure the bid security is placed in the envelope marked 'Financial Proposal (Original)' to avoid being declared unresponsive. Also, verify the Body Building License validity and FBR active tax status before submission to meet all mandatory qualifying criteria.
