Tender Description
The University of Turbat in Balochistan is procuring services for the operationalization of tube wells through the installation of submersible pumps. This project involves supply, installation, connection, testing, and commissioning of submersible pumpsets from reputed brands such as KSB, Alarko, and Grandfos or approved equivalents. The scope includes laying and disinfecting HDPE pipes, installing submersible cables, distribution boards with MCCB and MCBs, and starter switches. The work is to be executed at two tube well sites near the Main Overhead Water Tank and Academic Blocks on the University campus located on M-8 CPEC Road, Turbat.
The technical scope requires contractors to visit the site for actual measurements and to understand site constraints before quoting. The contract is a fixed price agreement with no provision for rate escalation. Contractors must comply with specifications, drawings, and instructions provided by the Engineer-in-charge. The contract includes a defect liability period of six months and retention money of 10% deducted from interim payments. Liquidated damages of 0.1% per day apply for delays beyond the completion date, capped at 10% of the contract amount.
Eligibility criteria include valid registration with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA), and Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). Bidders must not be blacklisted and should provide an affidavit confirming this. Bid security of Rs. 24,000 is required. Bids must be submitted electronically via EPADS; manual bids will not be accepted. The deadline for submission and bid opening dates are as notified in the official notice.
A practical tip for bidders is to ensure all pages of the bidding documents are complete and signed, as incomplete bids will be rejected outright. Also, visiting the site to verify conditions and measurements will help in preparing an accurate and competitive bid. The University of Turbat's Directorate of Planning & Development is the contact point for queries during working hours. This tender offers a valuable opportunity for qualified contractors to engage in a well-defined works contract with a reputable public university in Balochistan.
