Tender Description
The NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi, is procuring laboratory items specifically for its Department of Textile Engineering. This procurement is aimed at equipping the department with essential laboratory equipment and accessories to support its research and academic activities.
The technical scope includes supply and installation of items such as a Stereo Zoom Microscope set with tablet camera, Swatch Cutter, Whiteness Tester, USB flash drives, and an Automatic Fabric Stiffness Tester. These items are to be delivered and installed at the NED University campus in Karachi within 30 days of contract award. The procurement is funded through a PhD Research project, ensuring the relevance and quality of the items.
Eligible bidders must have a local presence in Karachi, at least three years of relevant experience, and valid FBR/NTN and GST registration certificates. They must also provide a client list and demonstrate an average turnover of at least PKR 1 million per year over the last three years. The bid must include a 5% bid security and comply strictly with the technical specifications without optional or alternative items unless accompanied by bid security. Affidavits confirming no litigation, blacklisting, or corrupt practices are mandatory.
Bids must be submitted electronically through EPADS by the deadline, with the original bid security delivered physically to the Deputy Director Procurement office before bid opening. The submission deadline and bid opening date are notified in the NIT. The successful bidder will be required to sign the contract within three days of award notification and provide a 5% performance security.
A practical tip for bidders is to ensure all pages of the bidding documents are complete and signed by authorized personnel. Missing pages or incomplete bids will be rejected outright. Also, bidders should verify their bid submission on EPADS to confirm inclusion in the bid opening list to avoid disqualification. Strict adherence to the terms, including timely submission and compliance with specifications, will enhance chances of success.
