Tender Description
The Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA) Karachi invites bids for the providing and installation of fire hydrants in the Karachi Export Processing Zone water supply network located in Landhi Industrial Area Extension, Mehran Highway, Karachi. This procurement is specifically for the complete supply, fixing, jointing, and testing of new fire hydrant valves conforming to British standards, including GI pipes, iron clamps, flanges, rubber sheets, nut bolts, teflon tape, concrete pillars, and numbering of fire hydrants. The scope covers all materials and workmanship necessary for the installation at the specified site.
Eligible bidders must be registered with the Income Tax and Sales Tax Departments for the financial year 2025-2026, licensed by the Pakistan Engineering Council, and have substantial experience in executing similar works. The bid security must be 2% of the bid cost in the form of pay order, CDR, or bank guarantee from a scheduled bank in favor of EPZA. Bids are to be submitted electronically through EPADS only, and physical submissions will not be accepted.
The tender follows a single stage two envelope procedure with technical bids opened first, followed by financial bids of technically qualified firms. The bid validity period is 90 days from the date of opening. Performance security of 10% of the total bid cost is required from the successful bidder. The contract duration is 90 days with a 6-month defect liability period. The submission deadline and bid opening date are as per EPADS portal announcements.
A practical tip for bidders is to ensure all technical documentation, including detailed drawings, catalogues, and compliance certificates, are complete and uploaded correctly on EPADS to avoid disqualification. Also, timely acknowledgment of any addenda issued is crucial. Bidders should carefully prepare their earnest money and performance security instruments as per the specified formats to comply with tender requirements.
