Tender Description
This tender invites bids for essential replacement, restoration, and improvement of sewerage lines in Chanesar Town, Karachi, under the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation. The scope covers replacement of defective 09", 12", 15" & 18" diameter sewerage lines, desilting and clearing of trunk sewers using winching machines at multiple locations including Manzoor Colony-II, Akhtar Colony, Azam Basti, Chanesar Goth, and Mehmoodabad. The works involve dismantling road metalling, excavation, construction of manholes, laying RCC pipes with rubber ring joints, and mechanical cleaning of sewer lines. The sites are located in urban Karachi, requiring careful management of traffic and public safety during execution.
The project demands skilled workmanship and quality materials such as RCC pipes, cement concrete, and steel reinforcements. The use of winching machines for desilting ensures efficient removal of silt and debris, restoring full pipe capacity. The engineering challenges include working in congested urban areas, maintaining sewer flow during works, and ensuring safety of labor and public property. Completion time for each work package is 60 days from the written order to commence.
Bidders must hold valid PEC registration with relevant specialization, be on the FBR Active Taxpayer List, and registered with Sindh Revenue Board. Compliance with GST registration where applicable is mandatory. The tender requires submission of bid security, technical and financial bids through the EPADS portal, and physical submission of bid security documents. The evaluation criteria emphasize experience with similar works, financial turnover, and technical capacity including machinery ownership and qualified engineers.
The submission deadline is set for 12th March 2026 at 2:00 PM, with bid opening at 2:30 PM on the same day at the Office of the Accounts Officer (Sewerage), KW&SC, 9 Mile Karsaz, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Karachi. Bidders should ensure timely submission and attend the opening if desired. The tender fee is PKR 3,000 and bid security ranges from PKR 35,000 to 45,000 depending on the work package.
Pro-Tip: Carefully review the bid security submission requirements and ensure the pay order or bank guarantee is issued from the participant's company account as per the NIT. Missing or incorrect bid security submissions are a common cause of disqualification. Also, verify PEC specialization and FBR ATL status before bidding to avoid elimination during evaluation.
