Tender Description
The National Highway Authority (NHA) invites bids for routine and emergency maintenance works on the Hyderabad Bypass from KM 159+000 to 162+000 on the N-5 highway. This tender is specifically issued by the NHA Sindh-South region and targets contractors registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) in category C-4 and above, with specialization in CE-01 and CE-10. The scope includes 113 routine maintenance contracts and one emergency maintenance contract, with the emergency work focusing on the specified bypass section in Hyderabad.
The technical scope covers road maintenance activities such as patching, resurfacing, and other civil works necessary to maintain the highway’s operational condition. The contract duration for the emergency maintenance is three months, while routine maintenance contracts have a completion period of twelve months. Contractors must be registered with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and appear on the Active Taxpayers List (ATL). Experience in similar highway maintenance projects is essential to ensure compliance with NHA standards.
Bidding documents are available from July 12, 2023, and the submission deadline is July 19, 2023, at 11:00 hours. Technical bids will be opened on the same day at 11:50 hours. Bidders must submit their bids in a sealed envelope following the Single Stage - Two Envelope procedure. Earnest Money in the form of a Call Deposit Receipt (CDR) is mandatory. The submission address is the General Manager office at NHA Complex, Near Drig Road Railway Station, Karachi.
A practical tip for bidders is to carefully review the PEC category requirements and ensure all registration documents, including FBR and ATL certificates, are up to date and attached. Late or incomplete submissions will be rejected. This tender offers a significant opportunity for contractors specializing in road maintenance to engage with a major federal authority and contribute to the upkeep of a critical national highway.
