Tender Description
Port Qasim Electric Power Company (Private) Limited (PQEPC) is inviting applications from eligible coal supply companies registered in Pakistan for pre-qualification to participate in future spot coal procurement for its 2 × 660 MW Coal-Fired Power Plant located at Port Qasim, Karachi. This procurement is critical for the continuous operation of the power plant and requires suppliers with proven experience and reliability.
Items being procured:
- Spot coal supply for 2 × 660 MW Coal-Fired Power Plant
The scope involves supplying coal that meets the technical specifications required for efficient combustion and power generation at the Port Qasim facility. The procurement is for spot coal, indicating short-term supply contracts over the next three to six months. Suppliers must ensure timely delivery and quality compliance to maintain plant operations.
Eligibility criteria include having at least two years of experience in coal trading and/or coal supply. Applicants must not be listed on any government, regulatory, or official blacklist. This ensures that only reputable and compliant suppliers participate. Registration with FBR and a valid ATL status are implied prerequisites for participation.
Interested bidders must request the Pre-Qualification Documents by sending an email to pqepc-cpd@powerchina.cn before the deadline of 30-July-2026. The final submission deadline for the pre-qualification application is 06-August-2026 at 08:30 AM. The submission method is via email as per the contact details provided.
A practical tip for bidders is to prepare a comprehensive technical and financial profile demonstrating their coal supply experience and compliance with regulatory requirements. Early request for pre-qualification documents is advised to allow sufficient time for document preparation and submission within the stipulated deadlines. Ensuring all eligibility criteria are met will enhance chances of shortlisting for future spot coal tenders.
