Tender Description

The Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) through its Transpower Workshop located at TPS Sheikh Manda Airport Road, Sadar, Quetta, Balochistan, is procuring HT/LT coils, LT copper wire, and repairing services for LT coils specifically for 100 KVA routine and low loss damaged distribution transformers. This procurement is planned for the financial year 2026-27 and aims to ensure the availability of quality coils and copper wire to maintain and repair transformers efficiently. The technical scope includes the supply of HT coils, LT coils, LT copper strips, and LT copper wire, along with the repairing of LT coils. The coils must meet specific technical specifications such as insulation paper thickness of 15 mm wrapped thrice, and precise sizes and weights for enameled wire. For example, 100 KVA HT coils for routine use require 1.1 mm wire weighing 13.5 kg, while low loss HT coils require 1.2 to 1.3 mm wire weighing 20 kg. The weight of each coil must be stamped on the front or side. Repairing services must be completed within 24 hours of order placement. Eligible bidders must be registered with PEC under code ME-5, verified by the Engineering Council Quetta, and have valid FBR registration. Firms registered with QESCO or those with relevant experience and purchase orders from DISCOs are eligible. Bid security in the form of Call Deposit Receipt, Bank Draft, or Pay Order valid for 120 days is mandatory. The procurement follows the Least Cost Based Selection (LCBS) method. The deadline for bid submission is Monday, July 20, 2026, at 10:30 AM via the EPADS v2.0 system. Hard copies of bid security must be submitted physically before the deadline at the Transpower Workshop office in Quetta. Bidders are advised to ensure all documents are complete and bids comply with technical specifications to avoid disqualification. A practical tip is to register early on EPADS v2.0 and verify all technical and financial documents to ensure responsiveness and avoid last-minute issues.
