Tender Description
Karakoram International University (KIU) in Gilgit is procuring a high-technology drone system specifically for its Computer Science Department under the GIS/AKAH Project. This procurement involves the supply, installation, and commissioning of a state-of-the-art drone at the KIU Main Campus. The drone must be brand new, fully operational, and compliant with the detailed technical specifications outlined in the Bill of Quantities (BOQ). The equipment should not be at the end of its life or support and must have parts available for at least five years. The scope includes extended warranties, service support, and urgent response as per the Service Level Agreement (SLA) for a minimum of one year.
The drone features advanced capabilities such as multi-spectral imaging, 3-axis mechanical gimbal stabilization, and long flight endurance with a maximum flight time of 43 minutes. It supports multiple satellite navigation systems including GPS, Galileo, BeiDou, and GLONASS. The technical bid must include company profile, branch locations, relevant experience, technical staff details, project history, client list, and technical brochures with authorization from principal firms. Earnest money of PKR 50,000 in the form of CDR or pay order from a scheduled bank is mandatory. Bidders must be registered with FBR and ATL and demonstrate experience in drone installation and commissioning.
The tender follows a single stage two-step bidding procedure with technical bids opening on May 5, 2026, at 11:30 am in the University Conference Hall, KIU Main Campus. Bids must be submitted physically to the Assistant Director Purchase office before the opening date. Conditional or incomplete bids will be rejected. The successful bidder will be required to deliver within 4 to 6 weeks after the supply order. A practical tip for bidders is to ensure all technical documentation and authorization certificates are complete and up to date to avoid disqualification during the technical evaluation phase. Strict adherence to the earnest money submission and bid validity of 90 days is essential to remain compliant with PPRA rules.
