Tender Description
The Project Management Unit (PMU) of the Department of Tourism (DoT), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is procuring upgrade equipment aimed at enhancing the tourist experience and improving site management at key heritage and tourist sites including Jamal Ghari, Takht-i-Bahi, Bhamala, Saidu Sharif Stupa, and Akra Mound. This procurement is part of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Integrated Tourism Development Project (KITE) funded by the International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank Group.
The scope involves supply and installation of walk-through gates and other upgrade equipment to improve site management and visitor experience at these historic locations. Bidders are expected to provide sealed quotations for the required goods under the RFQ method as per World Bank Procurement Regulations. The procurement is open to all eligible firms and contractors who meet the criteria defined in the procurement regulations.
Interested bidders should have valid FBR registration and relevant experience in supplying similar equipment. Although no specific PEC category is mentioned, firms with experience in tourism infrastructure or site management equipment supply will be preferred. The bid must be accompanied by a bid security of PKR 500,000 in the form of an irrevocable bank guarantee, CDR, or pay order.
Quotations must be submitted by 1400 hours on July 20, 2026, to the Project Director at PMU KITE DoT, House No. 20, Syed Jamal Uddin Afghani Road, University Town, Peshawar. Bidders can obtain bidding documents from the office during 0900 to 1700 hours or download from www.kite.gkp.pk or request via email at procurement.kite@gmail.com.
A practical tip for bidders is to ensure the bid security is properly issued by a scheduled bank and strictly adheres to the format required by the Project Director to avoid disqualification. Also, submit the complete technical and financial bids in a single envelope as per the single stage one-envelope process to comply with submission requirements.
