Annual Contract for Repair & Maintenance of Street Lights of Various Roads of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation in District Central

Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Engineering Department invites bids for the Annual Contract for Repair & Maintenance of street lights of various roads in District Central, Karachi. This contract covers comprehensive repair and maintenance works including electrical wiring, fixing of poles, flood lights, LED street lights, distribution boards, and related civil works. Items being procured: - Providing & laying PVC insulated copper conductor cables of various sizes (1.5mm2, 2.5mm2, 4mm2, 16mm2, 25mm2) - Providing & fixing MS tubular poles of 31ft and 40ft with base plates and stiffeners - Construction of RCC foundations for poles - Manufacturing and fixing GI single, double, triple arm brackets and canopy types - Providing & fixing flood lights (250W, 400W SON lamps) and LED street lights (50W, 100W, 150W, 200W, 400W) - Installation of circuit breakers, magnetic contractors, photo cells, earthing sets - Dismantling of old street light fittings, poles, brackets - Painting of poles with two coats of oil paint - Fabrication work to reduce pole height - Construction of RCC foundation for New Jersey barrier type poles - Other related electrical and civil works as per specifications The scope includes all materials, labour, equipment, and supervision necessary to complete the works as per the technical specifications and drawings. Bidders must be registered with Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) in category C-6, EE-06 or above, hold valid NTN and Sindh Revenue Board registration, possess a valid Electric Contractors License from the Electrical Inspector Government of Sindh (Karachi Region), and have a PEC registered engineer on staff. Experience of similar works executed in the last five years is mandatory, with at least one contract of 80% of the estimated cost or two contracts of 50% each. Financial soundness must be demonstrated with a minimum annual turnover not less than the estimated cost. The estimated cost of the contract is **PKR 20,000,000** with a bid security of 5% of the estimated cost. Tender cost is PKR 5,000. The bid validity period is 90 days. Performance security of 5% of the estimated cost is required. Liquidated damages of PKR 3,000 per day will be imposed for delay. Bids must be submitted in a single sealed envelope to the Office of Superintending Engineer (E&M), 512 J.M New M.A. Jinnah Road, Gurumandir, Karachi by **02 October 2026 at 2:00 PM**. Bids will be opened on the same day at 2:30 PM in the presence of bidders or their representatives. Submission must be in person or by registered mail. Telegraphic, telex, fax or email bids will not be accepted.
