Tender Description
The National Grid Company of Pakistan (NGC) invites bids for the construction, erection, stringing, testing and commissioning of a 500kV double circuit quad bundle transmission line from Tower No. 01 near Sangal to Tower No. 69 near Potha Sharif, covering approximately 23.5 km in Rawalpindi district, Punjab. The scope includes civil works for foundations, erection of steel towers, stringing of conductors and OPGW, environmental mitigation, and associated infrastructure such as access roads and camps. The project is located in a sensitive ecological area including the Murree Kahuta Kotli Sattian National Park (MKKS), requiring strict adherence to environmental safeguards and biodiversity action plans. Eligible bidders must be licensed by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) in the relevant category, have FBR/ATL registration, and demonstrate experience in similar high voltage transmission line projects. The estimated cost is approximately PKR 1.2 billion. The tender documents can be inspected and purchased from the office of the Chief Engineer (MP&M), NGC, Lahore. Bids must be submitted by July 1, 2026, 11:00 am, and will be opened the same day at 11:30 am. Earnest money in the form of CDR is required. Bidders are advised to visit the site and examine all conditions before bidding. A practical tip for bidders is to ensure timely submission of all required documents including technical and financial bids in separate envelopes as per the two-envelope procedure, and to carefully follow the detailed specifications and environmental management plans to avoid disqualification.
