Tender Description
Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Limited (KS&EW) in Karachi is procuring hiring services for a Diesel Generator with a capacity of 700 KVA, 60 Hz, 440 Volt, 3-phase, including an operator/helper on a rental basis for 6000 hours. This service is specifically for the MILGEM-3 project, requiring continuous power supply to ship equipment control systems and navigational systems during Harbor Acceptance Trials (HATs).
The scope includes supply and operation of a portable diesel generator in smooth working condition, maintained free from defects, with all consumables like filters and lubricants provided by the subcontractor. The subcontractor is responsible for transportation to and from KS&EW, uninterrupted power supply, and must provide an alternate generator within 2 hours if any defect occurs. The generator must be soundproof with a canopy and not older than 6-7 years. Working hours are 24/7 as required.
Eligible bidders should be registered with KS&EW or other state enterprises, have relevant experience with similar works, and comply with safety regulations. Registration with Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) or equivalent, FBR/SRB registration, and a trained workforce are mandatory. Financial stability and past performance will be evaluated.
The technical and financial proposals must be submitted in separate sealed envelopes by 1100 hours on 1st June 2026 at the Works Office Building, Ship Planning Hall, Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Limited, West Wharf Dockyard Road, Karachi. The technical proposal will be opened at 1130 hours the same day. Earnest Money and CDR requirements apply as per KS&EW rules.
A practical tip for bidders: ensure your technical proposal clearly demonstrates your capacity to provide a reliable generator and trained operator, backed by past performance evidence and compliance with all KS&EW safety and operational standards. Early site visits and coordination with KS&EW managers before bidding will improve proposal accuracy and competitiveness.
