Improvement and Rehabilitation of Rock Hills Road, Service Road of Johar Chowrangi Road and Connecting Road, Gulistan-e-Johar Block-1, District East, Karachi

The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Engineering Department invites bids for the Improvement and Rehabilitation of Rock Hills Road, Service Road of Johar Chowrangi Road and the Road Between Rock Hill Road and the Service Road of Johar Chowrangi Road, located in Gulistan-e-Johar Block-1, District East, Karachi. This project involves extensive civil works including excavation for pipeline trenches in soft rock, laying RCC pipes of various diameters, refilling excavated trenches, construction of manholes and inspection chambers, preparation of sub-base with well graded gravel, pumping out water from trenches, manufacturing and supplying RCC ring slabs and manhole covers, dismantling and removing road metaling and cement concrete, earthwork excavation, cartage of materials, preparation and laying of aggregate base course, asphalt concrete wearing course, cement paving blocks flooring, precast edge blocks, pavement marking with reflective thermo plastic paint, painting of masonry walls, and installation of reflective road studs. Items being procured: - Excavation for pipeline trenches in soft rock - Providing fence guards, lights, flags, and temporary crossings - Laying RCC pipes (12" and 15" diameter) - Refilling excavated trenches - Constructing manholes and inspection chambers - Preparing sub-base with pit or bed run gravel - Pumping out water from trenches - Manufacturing and supplying RCC ring slabs and manhole covers - Dismantling road metaling and cement concrete - Earthwork excavation in ordinary soil - Cartage of materials like stone aggregate, coal, lime, bricks, etc. - Preparing sub-base and aggregate base course - Laying 2" thick asphalt concrete wearing course - Providing and fixing cement paving blocks flooring - Providing and fixing precast edge blocks - Pavement marking with reflective thermo plastic paint - Painting masonry walls (kerb blocks) - Supplying and fixing reflectorized road studs The technical scope includes all civil construction and rehabilitation works as per the detailed Bill of Quantities and specifications. The project requires contractors registered with Pakistan Engineering Council in Category C-4 or above with relevant discipline codes, valid NTN and Sindh Revenue Board registration, and compliance with all eligibility criteria including financial and technical capacity. The contract duration is 180 days with a penalty of Rs. 3000 per day for delay. Bidders must submit bids with 5% bid security and comply with all Sindh Public Procurement Rules.
