Tender Description
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Engineering Department invites bids for the Improvement and Rehabilitation of the street lighting system at Liaquatabad Flyover from Karimabad to Super Market in District Central, Karachi. This tender is part of the financial year 2026-27 annual procurement plan and aims to enhance the street lighting infrastructure to improve safety and visibility in the area.
Items being procured:
- Providing and fixing circuit breakers of various amperages (15, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 75 & 100 Amps) on prepared boards
- Providing and fixing magnetic contractor FC80N
- Providing and fixing 10 Amps photo cells (National Japan) after removing damaged or old photo cells
- Providing and fixing LED street lights 150 Watt Aluminum die cast IP-66 with powder coated housing, minimum 150 lm/watt, CRI 70+, 10KV SPD with 3 years replacement warranty
- Providing ABC connectors suitable for 16mm ABC bundle cable
- Laying ABC bundle cable two core 16mm Aluminum Conductor
- Dismantling of existing 150 watts LED street light fittings including loading, unloading, and transportation to KMC workshop
- Painting of street light/high mast poles up to 31/40 ft with two coats of ICI oil paint
- Providing and fixing distribution boards 18"x18"x8" with locking arrangement and bus bars
- Providing and fixing sets of shackle insulators, iron clamps, U-clamps with nuts, bolts, washers using motorized lifter or crane
The technical scope includes complete rehabilitation and installation of street lighting components using high-quality materials and equipment as per specifications. The work requires skilled labor and use of hydraulic cranes for installation and dismantling at heights up to 31 feet.
Eligibility criteria include valid PEC registration in C-6, EE-06 or above, NTN certificate, Sindh Revenue Board registration, valid electrical contractor license from Sindh Electrical Inspector, proof of PEC registered engineer, relevant experience with similar works executed in the last five years, and financial soundness with minimum annual turnover not less than the estimated cost.
Bids must be submitted online via the EPADS system by 27-08-2026 at 2:00 PM. The bid opening will be held on the same day at 2:30 PM at the Office of Superintending Engineer (E&M), 512 J.M New M.A. Jinnah Road, Gurumandir, Karachi. The bid security is 5% of the estimated cost, and the tender cost is Rs. 5,000. The contract includes a penalty of Rs. 3,000 per day for delay.
