Tender Description
This tender invites bids for the maintenance and repair of the Indus Highway road section from Jamshoro to Peer Chhatan Dhigano Balal, including masonry structure works at mile 0/0-0/6, covering a length of 1.20 kilometers. The project is issued by the Provincial Highway Division Jamshoro, Government of Sindh, focusing on road infrastructure improvements in Jamshoro city.
The scope includes earthworks for road embankment, laying brick edging, base course preparation with stone metal, surface dressing with bitumen, and laying 1.5 inch thick asphalt concrete wearing course. Additionally, repair works on a 1-meter span culvert and construction of retaining walls are part of the contract. The site is located in Jamshoro, Sindh, and requires careful handling of materials such as bitumen and asphalt, ensuring compaction to modified AASHO density standards. The engineering challenges include maintaining proper camber, grade, and drainage while ensuring durability of masonry structures and road surface under local climatic conditions.
Bidders must be registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) in the relevant category and possess valid registration with FBR and SRB with activated status. Financial capacity requires a turnover not less than the estimated cost in the last three years, with experience in similar works. Compliance with the 2025-26 fiscal year requirements, including Earnest Money in the form of 5% Bid Security, and submission of a Call Deposit Receipt (CDR) is mandatory. The tender follows the Single Stage Two Envelopes procedure under SPPRA rules.
The submission deadline is set for 10:30 AM on 16th April 2026, with bid opening at 11:00 AM the same day at the office of the Executive Engineer, Provincial Highway Division Jamshoro, located opposite Irrigation Workshop near NADRA Office, Main Road Kotri. Bidders should submit sealed bids in person or by registered mail to the same address. All bids must be accompanied by the required Bid Security and comply with the detailed instructions provided in the bidding documents.
Pro-Tip: Ensure to verify the exact stamp duty and bid security requirements as per the newspaper advertisement and SPPRA guidelines, as these are often overlooked and can lead to disqualification. Also, carefully review the technical specifications and bill of quantities to avoid partial bids, which will be rejected outright.
