Tender Description
The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, through the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rural Economic Transformation Project (KP-RETP), financed by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and European Union (EU), is organizing a matchmaking event to explore partnership opportunities in the dry fruit value chain under the 4P (Public-Private-Producers Partnerships) model in the Chitral cluster. This event aims to identify potential private sector promoters and partners to collaborate with dry fruit producer groups and the project for developing sustainable, market-oriented dry fruit enterprises. The focus is on enhancing product quality, strengthening market linkages, and promoting farmers' economic empowerment.
Items being discussed include dry fruit products such as walnut, pinenut, apricot, apple, pomegranate, and persimmon. The event will cover strengthening the dry fruit value chain and associated trades as sustainable livelihood opportunities for rural men and women, improving product quality standards per market demand and innovation, facilitating access to national and international markets, promoting value addition through branding, packaging, mechanization and product diversification, establishing strong market linkages between producer groups and private sector firms, and enhancing income-generation opportunities and rural enterprise development.
The event will be held at Pamir Hotel, Chitral Town, Chitral Lower on Saturday, October 17, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM. Interested private sector promoters may obtain further details from the focal persons listed. This initiative expects to directly benefit men and women producers, especially from rural and underserved communities, by improving their skills and business opportunities in dry fruit development.
Bidders and interested parties should note the importance of aligning with the 4P implementation modality and preparing for the subsequent Request for Proposal (RFP) stage. This event is a key opportunity to engage with the project and explore sustainable business partnerships in the dry fruit sector.
A practical tip for bidders is to prepare detailed profiles of their experience and capacity in dry fruit value chain development and to be ready to discuss innovative approaches to product quality and market access during the event.
