Tender Description
Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre Karachi is inviting bids for the procurement of life saving medical supplies specifically medical gases for the financial year 2026-27. This tender is issued by the **Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre** located in Karachi, Sindh. The procurement is conducted through the Single Stage One Envelope Procedure via the EPADS electronic bidding system.
Items being procured:
- Liquid Medical Oxygen in VIE tanks (10,000 Liters adjacent to new surgical complex, Ward-5, Ward-12; 5,000 Liters adjacent to Ward-28)
- Compressed Gases in Cylinders
The technical scope includes installation and supply of liquid medical oxygen with vacuum insulated evaporators (V.I.E's) and ambient air vaporizers at designated sites within JPMC. The successful bidder must install cryogenic tanks within 30 days of award, ensure compliance with HTM standards, and provide telemetry systems and digital content meters for each VIE tank. The firm must have an alternate operational liquid oxygen plant in Sindh to cater for emergencies during power breakdowns. The supply must be duty paid and delivered to JPMC premises at the supplier's risk.
Eligibility criteria require bidders to have at least 5 years of experience in distribution of liquid medical oxygen and compressed gases to public/private health institutes, with at least two successful contracts and satisfactory performance certificates. Firms must have a minimum average turnover of Rs. 300 million for liquid oxygen and Rs. 20 million for gases in cylinders over the last three financial years. Registration with FBR, NTN, GST, and Pakistan Engineering Council is mandatory. Bidders must submit earnest money of Rs. 3,000 and bid security of 3% of total bid price in the form of pay order, bank draft, or CDR.
The **submission deadline is 04.08.2026 at 10:30 AM**, with bid opening at 11:00 AM the same day at the Committee Room adjacent to the Executive Director Office, Administration Block, JPMC Karachi. Bids must be submitted electronically through EPADS only. The contract is for FY 2026-27 with possible extension for 90 days or until next contract signing.
A practical tip for bidders: Ensure all documents are properly signed, paginated, and uploaded on EPADS well before the deadline.
