Tender Description
The Special Protection Unit (SPU) Gilgit-Baltistan invites sealed bids for the repair, maintenance, and supply of spare parts for government vehicles at the disposal of SPU GB. This tender follows an unsuccessful process conducted on 12.08.2026 where all bidders failed to qualify technically. The procurement is conducted under the Public Procurement Rules (GB PPRA) 2022.
Items being procured:
- Repair and maintenance services for SPU GB vehicles (four and two wheelers)
- Supply of spare parts for SPU GB vehicles
The scope includes repair and maintenance of government vehicles along with the supply of required spare parts for the financial years 2026-2027. Bidders must be well reputed, financially sound, registered with Sales Tax and Income Tax Departments, and have previous experience in similar works. Financial proposals must be submitted in sealed form and will be opened only after technical evaluation. The bids will be received under the Single Stage Two Envelope Procedure as per clause 36(b) of GB-PPRA-2022.
Eligibility criteria include registration with relevant tax authorities, submission of earnest money in the form of a Call Deposit of Rs. 500,000/- in the name of SP SPU GB, and submission of financial and technical proposals separately. Bids without Call Deposit/Bid Security will be rejected. The tender documents can be collected from the SPU office Gilgit upon written request and submission of a fee of Rs. 6,000/- to the MT Branch SPU GB.
The last date for bid submission is 07.09.2026 by 12:00 PM, with technical bids opening at 12:30 PM on the same day at the SPU office Gilgit. Bidders or their authorized representatives may attend the bid opening. The financial proposal of the technically lowest evaluated bidder will be accepted, while others will be returned unopened.
A practical tip for bidders: Ensure your Call Deposit is properly issued in the name of SP SPU GB and included with your bid to avoid disqualification. Also, carefully prepare separate envelopes for technical and financial proposals as per the Single Stage Two Envelope Procedure to comply with the tender requirements.
