Tender Description
This tender invites bids for the providing and installation of solar powered street lights along M.T Khan Road in District South Karachi under the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation's Engineering Department (Electrical & Mechanical). The project involves deploying 120W solar LED street lights with solar panels, batteries, MPPT controllers, and all necessary accessories. The installation includes fixing GI double arm brackets and ensuring a backup time of 12 hours with a minimum luminous flux of 150 lumens per watt. The scope covers supply, installation, and a 3-year maintenance period including replacement warranty for LED lights and solar panels.
The work site is located in Karachi, Sindh, where the contractor must manage the engineering challenges of urban installation, including the use of hydraulic cranes for mounting lights at heights between 25 to 31 feet. The contractor is responsible for routine cleaning of solar panels twice a month, battery inspections, trimming of obstructive vegetation, and prompt replacement of any faulty components to maintain optimal system performance throughout the maintenance period.
Bidders must hold a valid PEC registration in categories C-6, EE-06 and above, and possess an active NTN certificate along with registration with the Sindh Revenue Board. The firm must have executed similar projects in the last five years with financial turnover not less than the estimated cost. Compliance with PEC categories and FBR/ATL active taxpayer status for the financial year 2025-26 is mandatory. Joint ventures are allowed subject to PEC rules. The bid security is 2% of the quoted amount, capped at 5% of the estimated cost, and the tender cost is Rs. 5,000.
The submission deadline is set for 01 April 2026 at 2:00 PM, with bid opening at 2:30 PM on the same day at the Office of Superintending Engineer (E&M), 512 J.M New M.A. Jinnah Road, Gurumandir, Karachi. Bids must be submitted online via the EPADS system as per SPPRA Sindh regulations. Physical submission of bid security and tender cost pay orders is required before bid opening.
