Tender Description
The Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) through its Transpower Workshop located at TPS Sheikh Manda Airport Road, Sadar, Quetta, Balochistan, is procuring HT/LT coils, LT copper wire, and repairing services for LT coils specifically for 50 KVA (Routine & Low Loss), 25 KVA Routine transformers, along with allied materials for 200, 100, 50, and 25 KVA damaged distribution transformers. This procurement is planned for the financial year 2026-27 and aims to support the maintenance and repair of distribution transformers to ensure reliable power supply in the Quetta region.
The technical scope includes supply of HT copper coils, LT copper coils, LT copper strips, LT copper wire, repairing of LT coils within 24 hours of order placement, and supply of various allied materials such as HT and LT bushes, thimbles, eye nuts, copper rods, body packing, insulation papers and sleeves, wooden pads, tapes, gas cylinders, bonding materials, HT rods, and cutting grinding stones. All materials must conform to WAPDA/QESCO specifications and be inspected at the Transformer Reclamation Workshop. The coils have specific technical requirements including insulation paper thickness of 15 mm wrapped thrice and precise wire sizes and weights for different KVA ratings.
Eligible bidders must be registered with PEC under code ME-5, have valid FBR/ATL registration, and demonstrate relevant experience in supplying or manufacturing transformer coils and allied materials. Firms must own a workshop for manufacturing HT/LT coils with 3-phase motors at Quetta. Bid security of 2% of the bid value in the form of CDR, bank draft, or pay order is mandatory. Bids must be submitted online via EPADS v2.0 by the deadline of July 20, 2026, 11:00 AM, with the original bid security physically submitted to the Transpower Workshop office in Quetta before the deadline.
A practical tip for bidders is to ensure timely registration on EPADS v2.0 and to prepare all technical and financial documents meticulously, including PEC registration and bid security, to avoid disqualification. Early submission of 30% of coils/materials may be required after award, so bidders should plan production capacity accordingly. Strict adherence to specifications and timely delivery will be critical for contract performance and payment.
