Tender Description
The National Grid Company of Pakistan Limited (NGC), headquartered in Karachi, Sindh, is seeking to prequalify logistics partners for transportation and handling services of Auto/Power Transformers and Shunt Reactors across Pakistan. This procurement covers two lots: Lot-2A for inland transportation of locally available transformers and reactors between NGC warehouses, project sites, grid stations, and local factories; and Lot-2B for transportation of imported consignments from seaports, dry ports, or airports to NGC grid stations and other locations. The scope includes loading, unloading, sledging, jacking, and stowage using suitable and roadworthy vehicles compliant with National Highway Authority (NHA) axle load limits and safety regulations. Eligible applicants must have a minimum of five years' verifiable experience in similar transportation and handling services, be registered with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and appear on the Active Taxpayer List (ATL). Firms must also maintain compliance with labor, safety, and tax laws throughout the agreement term. The prequalification process requires submission of detailed documentation including company profile, financial statements, equipment lists, HSE policies, and declarations on non-blacklisting and performance security capability. Applications must be submitted in hard copy to the Manager (Custom Clearance & Logistics), NGC, Karachi by 11:00 AM on 4th May 2026. The technical bid will be evaluated on experience, equipment availability, financial health, and health, safety, and environment (HSE) compliance. Successful applicants will enter into a three-year Open Framework Agreement (2026-2029) allowing participation in subsequent call-off contracts awarded through limited tender inquiries or quotations. A practical tip for bidders is to ensure all vehicles and equipment are either owned or leased through State Bank of Pakistan approved institutions with valid registration and fitness certificates, as physical verification is mandatory and non-compliance may result in zero marks during evaluation. Maintaining timely and complete documentation including delivery challans and invoices will facilitate smooth payment processing under the contract. This opportunity is ideal for established logistics firms with specialized capabilities in heavy and sensitive cargo transportation within Pakistan.
