The Government of Gilgit-Baltistan through the Chief Conservator Parks & Wildlife Gilgit-Baltistan invites open bidding for Trophy Hunting Permits of wild ungulates for the 2026-2027 hunting season in Gilgit city. The auction will be held on 10th September 2026 at 10:30 AM in the conference hall of Forest Complex Jutial Gilgit. Trophy hunting will be conducted as per the GB Trophy Hunting Guidelines 2019. The hunting season for ungulate species starts on 15th October 2026 and ends on 10th April 2027. Items being offered: - Astore Markhor (Exportable) quota 4, Reserved Price USD 200,000, Call Deposit USD 10,000, License Fee USD 600 - Blue Sheep (Exportable) quota 8, Reserved Price USD 25,000, Call Deposit USD 2,000, License Fee USD 400 - Blue Sheep (Non-Exportable) quota 6, Reserved Price Rs. 12,00,000, Call Deposit Rs. 150,000, License Fee Rs. 10,000 - Himalayan Ibex Exportable (Prime CCHAs) quota 50, Reserved Price USD 11,000, Call Deposit USD 1,000, License Fee USD 300 - Himalayan Ibex Exportable (Others) Reserved Price USD 6,500 - Himalayan Ibex (Prime CCHAs) (Non-Exportable) Pak Nationals quota 40, Reserved Price Rs. 900,000, Call Deposit Rs. 100,000, License Fee Rs. 10,000 - Himalayan Ibex (Others) Non-Exportable Reserved Price Rs. 500,000 - Himalayan Ibex for GB Residents (Prime CCHAs) quota 10, Reserved Price Rs. 55,000, Call Deposit Rs. 50,000, License Fee Rs. 10,000 - Himalayan Ibex for GB Residents (Others) Reserved Price Rs. 300,000 The permits are valid only in designated Conservancies/CCHAs. Interested hunters, outfitters, and companies registered with the Parks & Wildlife Department Gilgit-Baltistan may participate. Individual hunters can also participate under the non-exportable category. Call deposits must be submitted in the name of Chief Conservator Parks & Wildlife Gilgit-Baltistan prior to auction participation. Twelve trophies out of 40 non-exportable Himalayan Ibex are reserved for national category, and one permit of Blue Sheep under non-exportable category is reserved. The auction will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis after completing all codal formalities. All hunters must collect hunting permits in person and will be responsible for logistics including travel, boarding, lodging, import/export permits, insurance, and visa. Hunters must present trophies for physical examination and endorsement. Only hunters with valid permits may hunt, and permits are non-transferable except under specific conditions. Hunters must acquire CITES export permits from the Ministry of Climate Change & Environmental Coordination. The department is not responsible for accidents or deaths during hunting. Successful bidders must deposit trophy hunting permit fees and other dues within one month or risk forfeiture of earnest money/CDR. Registration with the department is mandatory for all outfitters/companies with a fee of Rs 20,000 valid for three years. Past hunting-related scrutiny disqualifies participation. Caution is advised as hunting Astore Markhor, Blue Sheep, and Himalayan Ibex requires excellent physical fitness and patience due to rugged terrain and extreme cold weather. The submission deadline is 10th September 2026. Bidders should ensure timely submission of call deposits and registration to participate successfully.
