Tender Description
The Institute of Business Administration, Karachi (IBA) is procuring the upgradation and modernization of teaching spaces including classrooms and seminar rooms at its Main Campus in Karachi. This project involves comprehensive interior finishing works such as dismantling existing fixtures, installation of new flooring, skirting, cladding, suspended ceilings, and furniture including laminated MDF boards and acoustic panels. The electrical scope includes wiring, lighting fixtures, fire alarm systems, data and voice communication infrastructure, and associated civil works. The tender is issued by the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi, a reputable educational institution located in Karachi, Sindh.
The technical scope covers dismantling of existing interior finishes, installation of porcelain tiles, carpet tiles, PVC skirting, gypsum board ceilings, PVC fluted panel cladding, green chalkboard cladding, glass writing surfaces, acoustic upholstered panels, and furniture such as open shelving and cabinets. Electrical works include supply and installation of wiring, conduits, distribution boards, lighting fixtures, fire alarm control systems, data and voice communication systems, and access panels. The project requires compliance with approved manufacturers and standards, ensuring quality and durability.
Eligibility criteria require bidders to be registered with Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) in category C-6 or above, possess valid FBR and SRB registrations, and have completed at least three similar projects of Rs. 10 million or above in the last five years. Financial capability with an average turnover of Rs. 20 million over the last three years is mandatory. Bidders must submit satisfactory performance certificates and demonstrate technical and financial capacity.
Key dates include issuance of tender documents starting April 23, 2026, with a mandatory site visit on May 7, 2026, at 12 PM at IBA Main Campus. The closing date for submission is May 13, 2026, by 3:00 PM, with bid opening at 3:30 PM the same day. Bids must be submitted electronically via SPPRA EPADS system, with original bid security delivered to the Head of Procurement office. The tender fee is Rs. 5,000 non-refundable.
A practical tip for bidders is to conduct the mandatory site visit to fully understand the scope and site conditions, and to prepare detailed shop drawings for approval before commencing work. Ensuring timely submission of both electronic and original bid security documents is critical to avoid disqualification. Bidders should also carefully review the detailed specifications and approved manufacturers list to align their proposals accordingly.
This tender offers a significant opportunity for qualified contractors to engage in a prestigious project at a leading educational institution in Karachi, with clear guidelines and a structured procurement process.
