Tender Description
The National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, Karachi, invites bids for the Annual Tender for Supply of Surgical & Disposable Items specifically for Cardiac Surgery. This tender is a significant procurement opportunity for manufacturers, importers, and authorized distributors who can supply high-quality surgical and disposable items essential for cardiac patient care in Karachi. The procurement follows the Single Stage – Two Envelope Procedure with electronic bid submission mandatory via EPADS SPPRA portal; no physical bids will be accepted.
Items being procured include a comprehensive list of surgical and disposable products such as cotton bandages, surgical gauze, surgical sponges, enzymatic detergent solutions, disinfectants, various cannulas, surgical sealants, biological indicators, chest drainage bottles, surgical gowns, catheters, gloves, vascular grafts, oxygenators, and many more specialized cardiac surgery consumables and equipment. The full detailed list contains over 300 specific items with quantities, including sizes and specifications, ensuring bidders understand the scope and scale of supply required.
The technical scope demands that all goods must be new, CE Marked, FDA & DRAP approved where applicable, and comply with the country-of-origin regulatory authority standards. Samples must be submitted three days before the technical bid opening. Delivery timelines are 30 days for local items and 90 days for imported items, with strict penalties for late or substandard supply. Bidders must be registered with FBR, have active tax status, and provide earnest money of 2% of the bid price. The tender is valid for one year, and the NICVD reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities as per SPPRA rules.
Key dates include tender purchase and submission from 18-08-2026 to 04-09-2026 by 10:30 A.M., with bid opening on 04-09-2026 at 11:00 A.M. Bids must be submitted electronically to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, Rafiqui H.J Shaheed Road, Karachi. Bidders are advised to carefully follow the detailed instructions, ensure all mandatory documents and samples are submitted timely, and comply with all technical and financial requirements to avoid disqualification.
A practical tip for bidders is to ensure their pricing is competitive and not higher than local market rates or other hospitals in Pakistan, as NICVD will conduct market rate analysis and may cancel items or the entire tender if prices are found excessive. Proper documentation, timely sample submission, and adherence to the bid security and performance guarantee requirements are critical for successful participation.
