Tender Document
Tender Description
The Irrigation Department Government of Sindh, based in Karachi, is procuring consultancy services for a detailed study of the existing narrow bridge on the River Indus. This study aims to facilitate the widening of the bridge and implement river training works to improve infrastructure and water management in the region.
The technical scope includes a comprehensive assessment of the current bridge structure, hydrological analysis of the River Indus, and recommendations for widening and river training. The consultancy will involve site visits, data collection, design proposals, and preparation of technical and financial proposals as per the Terms of Reference provided by the department.
Eligible firms should have relevant experience in civil and structural engineering consultancy, particularly in bridge and river works. Registration with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and inclusion on the Active Taxpayers List (ATL) is mandatory. Firms should also demonstrate prior experience with similar projects and possess the necessary PEC category for consultancy services.
Proposals must be submitted to the Executive Engineer, Research Division, Karachi, by the deadline of 30th June 2024 at 23:59:59. The submission should include a technical bid and, if applicable, a financial bid, along with the required Earnest Money or CDR as specified in the tender documents.
A practical tip for bidders is to carefully review the Data Sheet and Terms of Reference to ensure all technical requirements and submission formats are strictly followed. Early preparation and timely submission can prevent disqualification due to procedural errors. Engaging local experts familiar with the River Indus conditions may also strengthen the proposal.
