Tender Description
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Finance & Accounts Department (Contract Management Wing) invites bids for the desilting of nala and transportation of de-silted material to designated dump sites at Karachi District South-II for the monsoon year 2026. This procurement is specific to Karachi city under the jurisdiction of KMC and aims to ensure uninterrupted storm water flow during the monsoon season to minimize urban flooding and environmental hazards.
The technical scope includes complete cleaning and de-silting of open nallahs, storm water drains, culverts, and allied drainage structures. The work involves excavation and removal of wet silt, sludge, municipal solid waste, debris, vegetation, and other obstructions. Both manual and mechanical methods will be used to restore hydraulic capacity. The contractor must provide all machinery such as long boom excavators, wheel excavators, front end loaders, dumpers, pumping sets, and winching machines. Transportation of de-silted material to approved dumping sites must be leak-proof and comply with environmental and traffic regulations.
Eligibility requires valid NTN, active FBR ATL status, PEC registration in category C-4 or above with relevant codes, and at least three years of relevant experience in desilting or cleaning of nallahs or storm water drains. Bidders must have completed similar works with KMC in the last three years and provide evidence of owned or leased machinery and technical staff. Financial documents including bank statements and tax returns for the last three years are mandatory.
The bid submission deadline is **2026-06-08 15:00:00** through the Sindh E-Procurement and Disposal System (EPADS). The original bidding document fee of Rs. 5,000/- must be submitted in the form of a pay order to the office of the Director (CMW), Finance & Accounts Department, KMC Head Office, Karachi. Bidders should ensure their bids are unconditional, properly signed, and include all required documents including bid security and authorization letters.
A practical tip for bidders is to carefully review the bidding documents and ensure all corrections or overwriting are properly signed and stamped by the authorized person. This will help avoid disqualification during the evaluation process. Also, timely submission of both electronic and original documents is critical to avoid rejection. Maintaining compliance with all environmental and safety regulations during execution is essential to prevent penalties or contract termination.
