Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Ltd invites quotations from pre-qualified and registered firms for specialized fabrication and welding works involving high tensile steel structures. This procurement is specifically for firms experienced in marine and dry dock steel structure fabrication, welding, surface preparation, and protective coating application in Karachi. Items being procured: - Fabrication of high tensile steel structure (as per tender document specification) - Part assembly of high tensile steel structure (as per tender document specification) - Welding of pre-assembled structure in flat, horizontal, fillet, and vertical positions (as per tender document specification) - Fairing and grinding works of weld seams for appearance and visual inspection (as per tender document specification) - Manual and mechanical de-rusting and surface preparations of steel surfaces by hand and power tools (as per tender document specification) - Abrasive blast cleaning and grit blasting on steel surfaces and confined spaces (as per tender document specification) - Application of approved marine protective coating systems and painting (as per tender document specification) The technical scope requires firms to have demonstrated experience in fabrication, part assembly, welding, grinding, fairing, surface preparation, de-rusting, and coating application on ships, marine structures, dry dock structures, and other steel structures. Preference is given to those familiar with epoxy and other high-performance marine coating systems. Tender documents containing specifications and terms can be obtained from the concerned department on any working day (Monday to Friday) between 0830 to 1600 hours starting from the publication date, 24 September 2026, upon payment of a non-refundable pay order of Rs. 2,000 issued by any scheduled bank of Pakistan in favor of Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Ltd, valid for 90 days. Applications must be submitted in sealed envelopes clearly marked 'APPLICATION FOR QUOTATION FOR DESIRED WORK' and must reach the undersigned by 18 October 2026. Late submissions will not be considered. Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Ltd reserves the right to reject any or all applications in accordance with para-33 of PPRA Rules 2024.
