Tender Description
The Livestock and Dairy Development Department, Punjab, is inviting eligible private livestock farm owners to establish Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD)-free compartments across Punjab during the 2026-27 financial year. This initiative is part of the ADP Scheme titled CM Punjab: Progressive Control of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) in Punjab. The project aims to provide government support through free FMD vaccinations and tagging of large animals within a 3 km buffer zone surrounding the notified compartments until June 2028.
The technical scope requires selected farm owners to have boundary walls with bio-security measures at the entrance, a separate quarantine unit for new or sick animals located at least 500 meters from the main sheds, and a minimum herd size of 300 large animals such as cattle or buffalo. Proper animal housing facilities including adequately ventilated sheds are mandatory. Applications not meeting these knock-down criteria will be rejected without further processing.
Applicants must submit valid CNICs, certified copies of land ownership or lease records, and documented proof of farm infrastructure including quarantine units, boundary walls, and herd size. The complete EOI documents, including application forms and evaluation criteria, can be downloaded from the department’s website or obtained from the office of the Director General (Extension) L&DD Punjab, located at 16-Cooper Road, Lahore. The submission deadline is 20th July 2026.
Farm owners will be required to submit written consent on judicial paper to maintain buffer zones and continue disease control measures for up to five years following notification by the government. They will also be responsible for implementing the necessary interventions on their farms and submitting business plans covering meat/milk processing, value addition, and export of livestock products.
A practical tip for bidders is to ensure all documentation is complete and accurate, especially proof of herd size and quarantine facilities, as these are critical for eligibility. Early submission is advised to avoid last-minute issues. This tender offers a significant opportunity for livestock farmers in Punjab to benefit from government support and contribute to disease control efforts.
