Tender Description
The Purchase Department of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Islamabad Capital Territory, is procuring high end ICU electronic beds as part of the project titled Establishment of Stroke Intervention & Expansion of Critical Care/ Cardiac Facilities at PIMS. This procurement is specifically for 40 units of advanced electronic patient beds designed for critical care applications, along with 40 hybrid mattresses. The beds feature electro-mechanical positioning, safety systems, and premium hybrid pressure-relief mattresses combining air and foam for patient comfort and safety.
The technical scope includes stainless steel or mild steel epoxy-coated frames, multiple adjustable sections, dual telescopic lifting columns, and integrated controls via wired handset, side-rail, foot, and nurse panels. Safety features include collapsible side rails, heavy-duty bumpers, CPR functions, emergency stop buttons, and X-ray compatibility. Power requirements specify 230V input with built-in battery backup lasting 2 to 8 hours. Accessories include stainless steel IV poles, urine bag holders, oxygen cylinder holders, and integrated weight monitoring systems. Optional parts such as bedside cabinets, over-bed tables, actuators, and height scales are mandatory to quote but excluded from bid evaluation.
Eligibility criteria require bidders to be registered with FBR, possess valid PEC registration for biomedical or electrical engineers, and submit original tender purchase receipts. The equipment must be brand new, latest generation, and compliant with FDA, CE, or MHLW certifications. Bidders must provide technical bids with detailed specifications, original brochures, and demonstrate experience with at least 5 years of satisfactory service in public institutes. Financial turnover and local workshop presence in Islamabad or Rawalpindi are also evaluated.
The bid submission deadline is Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 11:00 AM via the EPADS v2.0 system. Hard copies of bid security must be submitted physically to PIMS Hospital, Sector G-8/3, Islamabad before the deadline. Bidders are advised to carefully prepare their technical and financial bids, ensure compliance with all documentation requirements including earnest money and CDR, and register timely on EPADS. A practical tip is to attend the pre-bid clarifications and thoroughly review the technical specifications to avoid disqualification due to minor deviations or incomplete submissions.
This procurement offers a significant opportunity for suppliers specializing in medical and surgical supplies to contribute to enhancing critical care infrastructure at a premier medical institute in Islamabad. The department emphasizes adherence to quality standards, timely delivery, and comprehensive after-sales support including training and maintenance.
