Tender Description
The Planning and Development Department of the Government of Sindh invites applications for the post of Chief Economist (MP Scale-I) based in Karachi. This role is critical for economic planning and development in the province, involving coordination with national and international agencies including World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and various donor organizations.
Items being procured:
- Chief Economist (MP Scale-I) 01 Post
The Chief Economist will analyze and recommend important economic policies and programs, collect and analyze data for aid agencies, identify causes of project delays, and promote solutions. The role includes helping administrative departments seek foreign aid, coordinating foreign training and study tours, and supervising sections such as Foreign Aid, Appraisal, and Bureau of Statistics. The position requires a Ph.D. in Economics with 8 years experience or a Master’s degree with 12 years experience in relevant fields.
Applicants must be under 62 years of age at the closing date and should submit their CVs with a passport size photograph by 10th August 2026. Candidates currently working in government or semi-government organizations should apply through proper channels. No TA/DA will be admissible, and only shortlisted candidates will be called for interviews.
