Tender Description
Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Ltd. invites proposals and sealed quotations from well reputed sub-contractors or firms experienced in Marine Diesel Generator supply on rent. The procurement is for hiring services of a diesel generator with a capacity of 400 KVA / 60 Hz / 440 Volt, including an operator and helper, on a rental basis for 3000 hours to provide electric power to various systems at the shore of a ship under construction. Transportation from the sub-contractor premises to KS&EW and back is included.

The technical specifications and details are available in the tender documents at the office of Development & Sub-Contract (SB Division). The scope includes ensuring power supply as per load calculations with a power rating of 400 KVA, voltage of 440 Volt (3 phase), and frequency of 60 Hz.
Tender documents can be obtained from 21-09-2026 at the office of Development & Sub-Contract (Ground Floor, Ship Planning Hall, Works Office Building) on any working day (Monday to Friday) between 0900 to 1600 hours upon payment of a non-refundable tender fee of Rs. 3000/-.
Bidders must submit their offers before 1100 hours on 12-10-2026 in a single package envelope containing two separate sealed envelopes: one for the Technical Proposal with Pre-Qualification Form signed and stamped by the sub-contractor, and the second for the Commercial/Financial Proposal. The Technical Proposal will be opened on 12-10-2026 at 1130 hours in the presence of bidders at the Development & Sub-Contract office. Financial proposals of only technically qualified bidders will be opened later as intimated by KS&EW.
Bid validity is 90 days. Interested bidders should ensure compliance with all tender requirements and timely submission. A practical tip is to carefully prepare the technical proposal with all required documentation and signatures to avoid disqualification at the technical evaluation stage.
